Digger Monday... Jerry Magnuson's Blown Sporty

This is one of the first MagnaCharged Sporty's and Jerry's personal bike. I believe this bike was built while Jerry was still working with Dan Gurney.

I Picked Up A Few More Of These...

Gilmer pulleys. A 15, 16, and an 18. I've got a pretty good assortment to help dial in the boost on the digger.

Digger Monday...MagnaCharger Madness

Not really a digger by my definition, but if it's force fed you're half way there. She just needs a little top tube stretch.

Digger Monday...5 Year Itch

Okay, you really need top tube stretch in my book to "qualify" as a digger, but it's a bad mofo, so it's get posted. This sled was built by Shaker out of Sportsters of San Jose. Shaker spent 5 years massaging this '73 into the monster that's displayed here. The stock frame was raked 3/4 off an inch and everything was smoothed and molded. The front end is off a Honda 550. The rear fender is a chopped FX unit with custom rails. Now who really cares about that bullshit, check out the mill. The 70 incher sports a 4 9/16 stroke, Manley valves, Venolia pistons, Sifton C cams, and Magnuson MC60 supercharger. This fuckers dripping in chrome and gold plating, with engraving by Rudy Pena. Now that's a powerplant that would be at home in any digger chassis!

Digger Monday...Mal Ross's Malster

Here's my buddy Mal's digger from SuperCylcle, back in October of 1990. The detail in his machine work is incredible in all his bikes, but this scoot is fuckin' wild. Just check out the supercharger support, intake manifold, open primary, clutch setup, front calipers, the list goes on for days. This is probably one of the best diggers ever built and one of my favorites!

One Too Many...

carbs, superchargers, nitrous bottles, drive belts etc.  Arlen's Ferrari bike was way over the top and still insane by todays standards.

I picked up some old mags from that auction site. It's always cool when you see your friends bikes in there.

Supercharger Saturday...Type 40

I just picked up this little type 40. I have a couple 60 and 80's, but I couldn't pass this one up. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, and then I came across pics of AEE's "Street Digger". It's an interesting application and has got me thinking.

Digger Monday...Risky BizNess

Alright, it's not really a digger. Cory built this bike in '85, diggers were done, and the Ness's were applying their style to the fat bob scene. None the less Cory's insane supercharged shovel rules. Check out the 80 inch MagnaCharger fed by 3, that's right, 3 SU's. Talk about a tuning nightmare! Imagine hitting the nitrous button?
Everything on this bike is over the top. All the usual suspects were involved, Jim Davis, Bob Monroe, Jeff McCann, Rudy Pena, Daryl Hayes, Jim Doherty, Bob Vance Mike Leonard and probably that cat named Arlen.
This bike was for sale when it was built for $25,000. That was some serious scratch back then, but you got a hell of a bike, built by the finest craftsmen. Hopefully, this scoot is still together. If you know it's where abouts, hit me up.

Bill Gardner...My New Digger Project

I'll mount the Magnacharger like this one.

Awhile back I bought this frame from a guy in Nebraska. Supposedly done by Gardner before he started GMA. 4 days later, I picked up a clean ironhead for cheap. About a month prior I bought a primary set up for a Magnacharger off eBay just because it came with the A-frame and belt tensioner pulley. I didn't need the primary but needed everything else. I happen to have another Magnacharger sitting on the shelf with a straight snout drive. See where this is going? Another blown digger. Sometimes shit just comes together. It'll be on the back burner for awhile, I've got 3 other projects ahead of her.
