Digger Monday...Blue Horizon

Don York spent two years putting this bike together. She originally started as a '70 FLH. The springer, frame, fender, fuel and oil tank were ordered from Dave over at Cycle Fab. The gas and oil tanks were then molded to the frame so Dave could lay down some killer candy and pearl ribbon paint. Don did alot of the fabrication and polishing on this bike. It looks like two years well spent.

Digger Monday...Willie G's "East Wind"

First off, this Willie is from Strong Island, NY, not Milwaukee. Willie's had alot of success on the show circuit with this scoot. It was built in late '78 for the '79-80 ISCA series in which it took top honors. Right after the awards, this scoot hit the streets running.
Even though it's an East coast bike, the chassis is made up of mainly West coast components. The frame, forks and tank are Ness units. The Morris mags and Performance Machine rear brakes are the work of Perry Sands. Straight back handlebars were fabbed by Billy Budde. The engine is a beautiful peice. the cylinders have undergone some weight reduction in the case of fin removal. The jugs were than given a healthy coat of that shiny stuff and painted to match the bike, but leaving the chrome exposed on the fins. Induction is provided by a DHLA and exhaust is a custom Kenny Davis unit. The engraving was done by one of the best in the biz, Dave Perewitz.

Digger Monday...You're My Boy, Blue!

You fuckin' guessed it, geniuses! I love the movie "Old School" and Will Ferrell is hilarious. What does this have to do with diggers you ask? Absolutely NOTHING! Whenever someone says something with blue in it, I always say that line. If you've never seen the movie, buy it, watch it, laugh your ass off and thank me later.

Digger Monday...Nordland

Diggers really should'nt have swingarms (unless your runnin' SB&F struts) or a front fender in my opinion. Fuck that, it's a shovel and this fucker was probably built to be ridden, so we'll let it go. Plus she's got some righteous Perewitz goldleaf that I love so much!

Digger Monday...Street Racers

For a time, diggers weren't always seen as strictly radical show bikes. Guys were running hardheads on swinger frames with hot rod rod motors, for one purpose. Street racing, making money, and braggin' rights. From the Cabbage Patch in Daytona to Main Street, Sturgis, these hot rod Sporties once ruled the land much like Tyrannosaurus Rex and then suddenly disappeared. Check out this killer extended swinger with show and go from the the Shadley Bros.

Digger Monday...Al Reichenbach's Blown Sporty

Al began construction of this bike with a wrecked '69 CH he picked up for $500 back in '78. He started with a Cycle Fab frame and fabricated his own "digger"fender and cut down Sporty tank. Al did all the paint and molding at his shop, AJR Accessories. The engine on this scoot is almost all stock internally, with the exception of Magnuson blower and Dellorto carb. When the engine was stripped for rebuilding, the cases were polished and virtually all the pieces were sent to Perewitz for engraving or 24ct gold plating. Cycle Fab also handled the barrel and head hexing. This bike is the only Sporty I've seen using a MC80 supercharger. Check out the pulleys, it's actually being under driven.

Digger Monday...Heavy Dose

If you haven't noticed, Ed Kerr is one of my favorite builders. He's kinda local, out of Carisle, Pa. Ed never had a shop, just a guy building bikes out of his garage with the help of some professional talent. This bike was built by Ed, with help from Arlen Ness and Cycle Fab (Dave Perewitz). The frame was done at Cycle Fab using a Ness hard head, struts, and fender. Front forks are (gasp) Honda with custom trees by Ken Rasp. Ed drew up the plans for the two piece gas tanks which also house the oil in the lower right hand tank. The plans were sent to Arlen who along with Bob Monroe fabbed them up. Ed built the engine using the usual go fast goodies from Andrews, S&S, and Branch. The rocker boxes were split and re-shaped, barrels and head hex cut and shaved and the cam cover trimmed. On the primary side you have a early MPD cover and a aluminum generator housing from Motorsport. After everything was polished, chromed or gold plated, it was back to Cycle Fab for engraving, paint and leaf work by Roy Mason. This bike had all the key ingredients to win multiple Best of Show and Best Engineered awards.

Bob Vidal's Big Twin Digger....

Hailing from Mass, of course Perewitz was involved with this bike. Hopefully you figured it out by the paint and engraving. Dave also did the frame using a Ness hardhead. Not many diggers ran a swingarm mounted fender. All in all, she's a pretty neat bike.
