Thursday's Review...DCOE Tuning Tips

I'm tossed between which Weber carb I'm gonna run on the blown digger. I've got a DCNF setup and I'm almost finished fabbing an intake for the DCOE. I had to order up some parts from Pierce Manifolds and I picked up their Tuning Tips DVD while I was at it. It's 65 minutes of jam packed info explaining all the tuning circuits, maintenance etc. Highly recommended and well worth the money! If you're thinking about running a DCOE, you need this DVD.

Digger Monday...Unicorns Rule

Check out this '79 XLH built by BACC. This one's sporting one of  their hardheads, a Rajay turbo kit, PM wheels, Sifton disc setup and it makes for a pretty trick sled. The engraving was done by the one and only Rudy Pena. Now if you're wandering what's up with the Horst paint job, it's a funny story. See this scoot was built for a cat in Japan. Customs were a no-no, so he brought it through customs as a piece of art. Probably knowing this, Horst figured this dude's getting a fuckin' unicorn. Fuck yeah!

Showrod Sunday...Bug Out

The Type 1 or Beetle is a versatile creation. Many have been built as drag cars, autocrossers, off road vehicles, used for "kit cars" etc. This car also makes a fine looking street machine when chopped and dropped. There have been a few competitive VW's on the ISCA circuit and had done well. They're definitely an affordable way to get into the show circuit. Just don't build one of those goofy ass Volksrods!

Saturday's Shovel Lovin'... Showtime

With winter upon us, I really miss the old "real shows". The NY Coliseum show was the bomb. Street machines, vans and rods, with bikes scattered about. Daily riders, restorations and straight up show only types. Maybe I'm getting old, but there are very few good shows and swaps left out there worth going to. Anyway, enough of my bitch'n, enjoy the weekend fuckers!

Check out this crazy European Goldwing. These motors lend themselves quite easily for supercharging, but I'm  not sure of the make on this one. Magnacharger made a setup for Goldwings that was a pretty neat installation also. They pop up for sale from time to time.

Regrets...

This was up for sale on feeBay a few weeks ago. I saw it in the morning before I left for work. I didn't use the buy it now because I wanted to make sure I could arrange to have a buddy pick it for me. By the time I had my ducks in a row (which was around 2), she was sold! Fuck, next time I'll just buy it and worry about shipping later.

Digger Monday...5 Year Itch

Okay, you really need top tube stretch in my book to "qualify" as a digger, but it's a bad mofo, so it's get posted. This sled was built by Shaker out of Sportsters of San Jose. Shaker spent 5 years massaging this '73 into the monster that's displayed here. The stock frame was raked 3/4 off an inch and everything was smoothed and molded. The front end is off a Honda 550. The rear fender is a chopped FX unit with custom rails. Now who really cares about that bullshit, check out the mill. The 70 incher sports a 4 9/16 stroke, Manley valves, Venolia pistons, Sifton C cams, and Magnuson MC60 supercharger. This fuckers dripping in chrome and gold plating, with engraving by Rudy Pena. Now that's a powerplant that would be at home in any digger chassis!

I've always been in love with '48-'56 Fords. I believe this one started life as a'54. The nose treatment is classic, and check out the scoops in the rear fenders. Killer!
