Sporties Forever...

One of my favorite Ness pics from the incredible ZZChop blog. It's a shame Arlen had the van painted red sometime in the 90's, I loved it in black.

I Picked Up A Few More Of These...

Gilmer pulleys. A 15, 16, and an 18. I've got a pretty good assortment to help dial in the boost on the digger.

I Normally Don't Do This...

My Uncle Bob passed away this past Saturday. He just retired this past November. His fishing boat "Hammer Time" ( he lived for fishing shark, particularly hammer heads) survived Hurricane Sandy and was looking forward to the season ahead. My Uncle was the type of guy who loved life and family to the fullest, and had a million friends from all different backgrounds. Anyway, the Fort Lee  motorcycle unit pulls up to escort the funeral procession. It was 17 degrees out on the way to Church, ice on the roads, not riding weather at all. I've ridden with motor cops before, my great grandfather was one and rode an Indian, which is my grandfather ended up falling in love with Indians, but these guys could ride. We got through rush hour traffic quickly and safely. My Uncle would've loved it. It turns out, these guys were friends of a friend and showed up on their off time to do this for the family.  Class act. Miss ya Unc.

As goofy as this kit was, it was well engineered and well made. If they could've been manufactured cheaper, it may have been more popular.  I'd love to take one for a ride. I imagine it'd handle like an overweight, overpowered scooter.

Digger Monday...MagnaCharger Madness

Not really a digger by my definition, but if it's force fed you're half way there. She just needs a little top tube stretch.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday...Wheels Up!

I woke up this morning with some killer back pain  Imagine how Bill Maverick felt after dropping the front end down of legendary Little Red Wagon a couple hundred times a year. I was fortunate enough to meet Bill at E-town Raceway Park a few times. He told me he had a couple surgeries to the hard "landings". Way cool cat.

Ladies love a wheelstander. The don't call 'em pickem up trucks for nothing.

Saturday Sweetness...

The past month and a half has been insane. I've been wrapped up in a few non-bike related projects helping people out. Between this and my regular job, I've been getting in around midnihht every night, which wouldn't have been bad, except I get up at 4:30 for work. Thanks to Monster and 5 hour energy I made it through some severe sleep depravation. I plan to eat good tonight and sleep late tomorrow. I haven't been in my garage since last year, literally. I hope to get at least one project bike on the road before the riding weather is here. Enjoy the weekend fuckers! Hopefully this poor excuse of a blog will return to it's "normal" state of debauchery next week.

Digger Monday...Jon Kosmoski

Kosmoski is House of Kolor, you know it, the best paint manufacturer in the world. All right, that's a bold statement. Now the line is manufactured by Valspar. Anyway, the quality is still good, but with much better distribution.
Jon's an innovator. Back in the birth of candies and pearls, the shit sucked. It faded, clears couldn't tolerate high mils, etc. Well Jon and HOK changed that all. He got into chemistry to make the best custom paint, period. I took one of Jon's seminars HOK did at Bergen Tech back in the early '90's. Hands down one of the coolest guys Ive ever met.
Anyway, here's Jon's Winged Scarab, a digger built  and painted by himself. It's basically a drop neck frame mated to a SB&F hardtail with a SB&F girder. Jon fabbed up all the sheet metal out of 17 guage and handled all the paint, striping, and goldleaf. Power is supplied by a 1200 shovel fed by the notoriously ill fated S&S dual throat.

Speaking of Shovelin'...

We were supposed to get hammered with this killer nor'easter. Luckily it only dumped about a foot of snow on us. Unfortunately, I had to go to work today. If you're gonna go out and play in this shit, dress appropriately. Enjoy the weekend fuckers.

Saturday's Shovel Lovin'...

If you must trailer.

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Everybody hates them, but every once in awhile they come in handy for moving a project and what not. For sure, this is one of the coolest I've ever seen. Well thought out and a nice use of hot rod parts.

Showrod Sunday...F'n George

Alright, this post has nothing to do with showrods. Really, it's my disdain for George. Sam was "the" Barris in my eyes. George was more like some hipster kid cashing in on his brother's cred. Wtf is that horrible contraption, cashing in on "Disco Fever"? Enjoy the babe, I'll be returning this week with some ass kicking shit. Stay tuned fuckers!
And btw, disco always sucked. Do ya think Lemmy ever listened to that shit? Not on his worst day!
