Digger Monday...Whammer Jammer II

This bike was originally built by Bob "The Greek" in San Leandro for Larry Cumforman and named Whammer Jammer. Long story short, this bike never made it past the show circuit, due to mechanical issues. The boys at Custom Cycle magazine were interested in it, and Ron Simms (BACC) persuaded Larry to sell it to them. After sorting out all the issues, it hit the streets as Whammer Jammer II.
Fred Schirmer built the frame, forks, tank and fender. If you notice, the whole drivetrain drops out, thanks to that trick sub-frame. Pretty f'n cool! Besides "The Greek" and Schirmer, BACC, California Cycle Works, Horst, Steve Ellington and Stu Lundberg all had their hands in the build of this innovative scoot.

Sunday Sunday SUNDAY...Fire Burnouts!

Garlits and Ivo are credited with doing the first ones. Bleach and gasoline, rosin, traction compound and lighter fluid, matter how it was done, it all added up to cool.

Trike Thursday...Turbo Trike

John and Diana Hoyt's VeeDub trike ws actually kinda trick for it's day. VW trikes are kinda love 'em or hate 'em. That's mainly due to so many hacked up kits out there.
This fucker's got a chrome moly frame and a fiberglass body laid up by Glass Menagerie. Paint was done by Reggie from Carlini Creations. Tank is a stretched Ness deal and the girder is from SB&F. Motorvation is supplied by a 2180cc Type 1 force fed by a Rajay turbo and SU carb from Rivera.

Digger Monday...Mal Ross's Malster

Here's my buddy Mal's digger from SuperCylcle, back in October of 1990. The detail in his machine work is incredible in all his bikes, but this scoot is fuckin' wild. Just check out the supercharger support, intake manifold, open primary, clutch setup, front calipers, the list goes on for days. This is probably one of the best diggers ever built and one of my favorites!

Lot Lizards...

We stopped at a couple truck stops on the way down to Daytona for Biketoberfest. Thankfully, I did not run into this!

Power!!!

A crew from Daytona Beach got power up and running at home. Ironically, these guys all ride. I told them we were down there for Biketoberfest and spent the rest of the week in Disney. We bullshitted about bikes for a few, but these cats are busy getting our state back up. A BIG thank you to my union brothers from other states lending a hand.
The Army Corp. Of Engineers brought us some industrial generators to get overhead lighting in the shop. They also brought some heavy equipment to move stuff after all our equipment failed. We do have a few trains running now. Hopefully we start moving commuters and  we all can keep our jobs. With the railroad in shambles, getting time in the garage will be next to impossible.

Jersey Strong!!!

We got hit hard by Sandy. My friends lost homes, bikes, cars, but luckily loved ones are ok. Work was 6-10 feet under water, we lost all our tools and parts, but we'll come back. No power at work or at home, but we still have a roof over our head! Keep strong and have an asstastic weekend fuckers!
