A couple of Roth's VW trikes made it in this fine piece of cinematography. Unfortunately I missed this one.

The Chatterbox...

We hit up the Chatterbox last Sunday in Augusta. The food is good, great atmosphere. The cars on display in the center of the restaurant change month to month. They had a kit Cobra on display while we were there. There's also a fed, and alot of auto related movie stuff on the walls. Always alot of bikes and rods in the lot. If you're ever in the area check it out.

The Babe's Ride...Lead East

here she comes! I've been going to Lead East every Labor Day weekend since '87. One of the best car shows/parties around, and it's local for us. My little sweetheart is 2 1/2, so it's time she got her own "baby hot rod", as she calls it.
Laid out some Watson style panels. I've always loved his Grapevine paint job.
I fabbed some lake pipes out of stainless that have to be mounted, and still have to upholster the seat, pinstripe etc. I've got 2 days to get her done!

Enough Already...I'm Back!

After all the ass whooping emails and shit from my boys (who don't even subscribe to my blog), I'll be back. I didn't realize anybody gave a shit. I've been burnt out lately from fabbing Porsche parts and shit for a friends race bike. I probably just need some time working on my blown digger. The posting will resume. Back in the day my ol' man had a custom van with a captains chairs, wet bar, bed, custom paint, etc. Typical custom van stuff for the day, but cool none the less. He would never let me drive it, and when he did, I'd have to get the speech about not getting chicks pregnant. I had alot of good times in that van!

Last Night...

My boy Chuck and I took a ride out to see two local blues masters at Mexi Cali Live. Walter Trout opened up for Popa Chubby and the show was incredible. Walter is an absolute craftsman and Popa burned the house down.
Both these guys play over 200 dates a year worldwide, so if there anywhere near you, check these fuckers out.

The mailbox section of "Big Daddy's" Choppers magazine needed a logo for the beginning of the column which Newt did for him. This logo was fashioned after a hot rod panel truck except it had one wheel in front. And the "Mail Box" was born.

Wednesday's WTF...Lions, Bikes, Sidecars Oh My!

In June I posted the pic with the lion. Since then, I found a little more info (check out the for sale sign). This motordrome was operated  by Earl and Ethel Purtle up until the '60s at the Palisades Amusement Park in Palisades, NJ.
