Digger Monday...Kevin Ness's Big Wheel

Whenever talk turns to diggers, someone always brings up the Big Wheel. Most people don't realize this was built by Arlen's brother Kevin. He worked at the shop in the mid to late '70's. I'm not sure at what capacity, but I have to imagine he did whatever needed to be done. There's very little info in the mags on Kevin, if you have any info, email me at xlr8n13@Gmail.com.

Showrod Sunday...The Mafia Mixer

Originaly designed by Larry Wood of Hot Wheels, Dan woods of Autosmith Inc. made it a reality. Powered by a small block Chevy, a 2 speed trans and fed to a Jag rear, it was actually a pretty cool chassis design for a showrod. The mixer was hand rolled stainless, while the woodwork and front sheet metal were farmed out to The Wood Guy and Custom Metal Shaping respectively.

Showrod Sunday...The Pizza Wagon

Bob Schoonhoven originally handbuilt this kick ass C-cab. It's one of my all-time faves. I saw this rod in the early 90's before it was restored,  and can tell you the craftsmanship on this build is top notch. The body was constructed from a hardwood frame with a plywood overlay, which was then fiberglassed. This form of building is common in boat construction, but quite uncommon in the automotive world.
And then there's the killer small block equipped with a super rare MagnaCharger MC220 dual supercharger. Over the top for sure, but looks right at home on this killer ride!
